Paul George interview
Here is a NBADraft.net interview with Paul George. Interesting comment on the WAC. I always thought George loafed through games. This explains why I guess.
NMSU women's schedule
I spoke with Aggies women's coach Darin Spence on Saturday about their upcoming schedule.
The Aggies schedule has 16 home games after playing 18 home games last year.
"After last season, we have found that it's getting harder to schedule. Nobody wants to play us and we can't buy games with the entire SWAC," Spence said.
The Aggies open the season in mid-November with road games at North Dakota State and North Dakota and then play at UTEP. Their other non-conference games are at UNM, Michigan and Arizona in the first leg of a home and home.
Home games include Utah, Houston, UNM, UTEP and the Thanksgiving Classic with Northern Iowa, Louisiana Monroe and Alcorn.

Aggies approved for international tour
Marvin Menzies said that the Aggies have gained approval for an international tour late this summer.
"We are currently looking into a trip to Canada. A final decision should come next week as to where we are going and when. Obviously, it's a huge competitive advantage with the 10 practice days and playing games that early with all of your new players."
Menzies said NCAA rules regarding these trips require players to be enrolled in the summer, which the Aggies' players are.
The Aggies went on a similar trip prior to the NCAA tournament season of 2006, playing three games in British Columbia and Vancouver.

A little more APR
Here is a searchable APR database if you are extremely bored or have no life like myself.
Some highlights
WAC schools....It appears La. Tech was penalized a scholarship. Among other things Graham did was keep his APR up, still puzzled on that firing.
NMSU 900
Boise State 986
La. Tech 912
San Jose State 909
Idaho 922
Nevada 938
Utah State 946
University of New Mexico had a 923 and UTEP had a 921 but it said the Miners will also be docked a scholarship.

Aggies regain scholarship
The Aggies will get their 13th scholarship back for the upcoming season after playing the last two years with 12 scholarships. Off the top, for those Menzies haters out there, they lost it after his first year, which would have been a Reggie Theus team.
The current APR cycle of four years includes both of Reggie's seasons and two Menzies seasons. The important thing to remember is that it's a four-year average and the reason the hoops team was so low was because of the turnover from Lou Henson's last couple of years to RT and then Menzies. Now that low score is off the average and the men's team reaches the all-important benchmark of 900, they regain the scholarship.
What could have been?
The most interesting thing that I learned was that the NCAA could have yanked postseason consideration prior to last season. Of course we all know that the Aggies went on to have some postseason success.
So with the re-gained scholarship, the Aggies have one to fill. Menzies said Troy Gillenwater will get a scholarship back as well as incoming freshmen Nephawe and Kabongo. Menzies said there are a handful of players he is monitoring this summer in terms of academics and interest level or he could save it for following this year when the Aggies only lose seniors in McKines and Castillo and Lumpkins.
