Mick Durham one of three finalists in Alaska

New Mexico State assistant Mick Durham is the final of three in-person interviews for the vacant Alaska-Fairbanks head coach position. Durham has connections in Alaska after his Montana State clubs would play in the Top of the World tournament in Fairbanks.

Durham was one of 65 applicants, six of which conducted interviews over skype last week before the three finalists were flown to Alaska. Durham's interview is Friday.

Fairbanks plays in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in the Division II ranks. The job has been open for a month after Clemon Johnson took the Florida A&M job.

Should Durham leave, it's likely that Tom Lewis would assume a greater amount of responsibility. Gerald Lewis was also pursuing a position at alma mater SMU.

you might want to dig a little deeper and find out what really is going on over there with the self titles "marvelous" marvin menzies and his staff. word on the street IS, he isn't going to bring mick back. say what?! there are issues over there no one is reporting on and no one really knows about and it all starts with that fool boston. "marvelous" has no clue and talks out of both sides of his mouth, while he isn't reaching in to our pockets robbing us for the 6th man club. i believe the only win we have, recently, over utep was the game "marvelous" got tossed out of early, because he has no clue how to deal with officials, and mick stepped in and won the game. "marvelous" gets stroked by paul weir and now tom lewis and no one else on that staff can even get close to "marvelous". you report as if moving tom lewis up is going to help us. say what? that program is going no where fast. i hope mich gets that job so he can get out of that sinking program. "marvelous" is a liar, a cheat and a con man.

11:58pm- from what you say, I have to conclude that the "word on the street" is worthless. But, I was almost following you until I got to the last sentence. The attributes you list(a liar, a cheat and a con man) I thought only applied to Reggie.

I'm not sure how you read that Tom Lewis is an upgrade. I actually think that losing Durham would hurt the Aggies bench.
