I know you don't control this, but it would be nice of the Sun News if it posted the WAC tourney brackets...

I think the point was that the WAC brackets have been known since Saturday night and the Sun News hasn't posted them.

Jason,

I dont know if you read the comments that people leave on articles in the Sun News, but I was wondering what your thoughts were of Menzies as a recruiter so far. That was one of his strengths when he was brought in, that he was a great recruiter. However, it seems that a lot of people are not content with the talent that he has brought in and dont like the strategy of gambling on developing foreign players. After next year we will lose four potential starters(LaRoche, Ham, Wen and Gillenwater) and it seems like with the team that we have now that will be a heavy loss. I think that Kabongo, Chili, and Watson will continue to develop next season but West, Dixon, and Sy wont come by the minutes that they have this season. It would seem that after the main four leave, those six would be the core of the team. And maybe its just me, but that wont be a very competitive team. I dont think Menzies can handle another season like this one or the one he had two years ago. But it seems like his recruiting has put him in that position in two years. I dont think there is anything wrong with recruiting players that you can develop but I also think that he needs to bring someone who can stand out fast. What are your thoughts?

I agree, it's frustrating not to see the bracket in the local paper. The aggie athletics web page has so much junk on it (ads) it's not obvious there's a link to the WAC tourny page.

Simply putting the bracket in the paper I think would help generate interest and support of the aggies in the tournament. Half the people in cruces are probably not even aware the WAC tournament is being played this week, only the diehards are going to searching for the bracket on wacsports or wiki.

Anon: 8:27,
I don't mind the recruiting north of the border at least. College basketball is full of Canadian players and while the top tier talent from Canada spends time in prep school first before going to high major schools, Paul Weir has done a nice job bringing in guys who can develop into good players. Thus far, Chili is the only guy from overseas who can play but I think he has a chance to be really good if he puts the time in during the offseason. BJ West has kind of surprised me recently and I look at him as more of a power forward backup next year so there could be some minutes. I also think Renaldo Dixon has a chance to be a Tyrone Nelson type at NMSU, I don't think we've seen half of his game. Sy, N'doye are recruiting misses and at a place like NMSU, you can't afford too many of those. I think Remi Barry could be the type of player you're talking about, at least those are reports I hear from those who have seen him in pick up games. We knew Gillenwater would eventually be the guy. Barry seems to be that next guy, but I too think they are missing another piece that would set them up for down the line

Remi Berry and Daniel Mullings will be All-Wac Players.
