Unofficial schedule

Here is what I have been able to piece together this summer. I thought the schedule would be final this week and I guess it still could be but here is what I know...or at least think I know.

Nov 2 — exhibition vs. Western New Mexico
Nov. 8 — scrimmage at Texas Tech (possible Tech returns the favor next year)

Nov. 13 — At Saint Mary's (first of home and home)
Nov. 17 — University of New Mexico
Nov 21 — vs. Pan Handle St.
Nov 24 — at Cal St. Fullerton (bracketbuster payback)
Nov 26 — vs. North Carolina A&T
Dec. 1 — vs. UTEP
Dec. 5 — at UNM
Dec. 13 — at UTEP
Dec. 15 — at UCLA
Dec. 18 — at Pepperdine
Dec. 21 — vs. Alcorn State
Dec. 23 — vs Texas Southern
Dec. 28 — vs Prairie View A&M

WAC Opener Jan. 2 vs. Utah State and Jan. 4 vs. Nevada

Bracketbuster on the road on Feb. 20

WAC opener on the 2nd and 4th you put both Nevada. Do you mean Utah State on the 2nd, and NEvada on the 4th.

well no wonder they are waiting to release this crap...I'm an ardent supporter, but this home schedule makes me want to vomit.

This home schedule is ridiculous. Other than UNM and UTEP, there isn't one game against a team from a decent conference. Come on Boston, this is a joke. I realize scheduling is tough, but can we at least get some bottom dwellers from better conferences? At least from the Mountain West, MAC, or Conference USA. This schedule is poor. Once again, our hope for an NCAA tournament will have to come as a result of an automatic berth. You owe our student athletes much better competition.

After a few of the schools were named I posted that the schedule was one Hal Mumme would have loved, nothing but cupcakes. The bright side, 11/21, 26, 12/21, 23, and 28 should all be w's. If not, even the most ardent Menzies supporters might start to think twice. Looks like an auto bid is the only way in, the rpi must be weak.

If we can somehow beat UCLA and St. Mary's and take care of business against the teams we should, then we have a good argument for an invite. Big if, of course, considering we might be without Gillenwater. Wen won't be there for sure in LA.

This program is a joke!!!! It seems to be going backwards and not forwards!!! I dont see this getting any better either!!! If you cant hang with the Big Dogs stay on the porch!!! I hear UNM is looking strong and looking for a cheap meal down south!!!

Seriously, what's the deal with the official release of the schedule?

The last day of Fall class is 12/11, and final grades are due 12/15, so it's conceivable that a newly eligible Gillenwater or Wen could play in the UCLA/Pepperdine games. Personally, I'd like to redshirt him for the entire year, but we'll see what the circumstances are on 12/15.

As to the schedule, the number one determinant of Pan Am attendance has been winning, followed by strength of competition, so I think that this relatively weak OOC (we should be no worse than 8-4, and probably 9-3 or 10-2) may bode well for attendance during the conference season.

What's up Gillenwater? How don't these guys have there grades in check? A good coach would be on top of this stuff....

Where the heck is the official schedule?

Looks like we could be crowned SWAC Champions by January. Even W's against those teams won't raise the RPI, which is what Boston "AD of the Century" says is important. We won't be high enough in RPI to get a bid to the dance. How is it our WBB team can bring in Kansas and Michigan in here and the men can't? Looks like a $49 season ticket to the WBB team is a pretty darn good deal.

This schedule is really pathetic ... especially when we actually have some good talent; and a legitimate NBA prospect with Jahmar Young. Why couldn't we get some MWC schools or even Sun Belt Conf. schools! Bring FIU here so we can razzle Isaiah Thomas! Why the heck are we playing Pan Handle St.? and North Carolina A&T? Seriously ... I agree with the poster above; this is a schedule Hal Mumme would've loved, but for Aggie basketball? Couldn't we do better? On a 1-10 scale, this is a 2.

No report on the first practive Coach twitter about it on the 14 of August. Who's there Who's not? Who made grades? Lets get something going here.

Anon at 854. Look for something Saturday. I think the first day they could have got together as a team is the first day of school which was Thursday.

Why cant the Aggies team up with utep, (i know...GASP) and work on bringing the same teams to EP and LC. Utep just released their schedule and it includes BYU, Air Force. They have their cupcakes too but I'd rather see an effort to get them than say Alcorn St., and TX Southern. I know being old WAC foes that BYU and AFA have a past with utep and not NMSU but why not make the effort.

Plus it looks like Tx Tech is back on utep's schedule. There's another team I would love to see the Aggies match up against.

whomever, whenever, lets just get to the season and have some fun. yes, the schedule looks a little on the soft side and it won't help the RPI, but a W is a W. Theus had a SOFT schedule his WAC tournament title year with that loaded team he had and it didn't hurt them come WAC tournament time. Maybe the same will happen this year. Aggie fans, how about getting off Menzies back and trying to help him out some? He is our coach and he, as do all our coaches, need the help of a loyal fan base. If we are Aggies, we need to be there to help all our teams. What good does it do to sit home, and bitch on this stupid blog about our coach(es). They are ours until they aren't. Lets support the student-athletes and try to have some fun. Go Aggies.

Home OOC Schedule from Theus's last year:

Pacific
Chicago St.
San Fransisco
UNM
UTEP
Arkansas Pine-Bluff
Western New Mexico (wow worse than any team we have on the schedule this year)
Norfolk State

Does anyone think, without winning the WAC tourney that we'd have gone to the tourney with this schedule? No wonder we had a long home winning streak. Do people forget this stuff? We, also, lost to a bad Loyola Marymount team that year as well.

Hey groves. You hear about Utah State signing a convicted felon. You should write something bashing Utah State for this since their newspaper people love to bash NMSU for everything we do.
