Dallas area big man B.J. West was on campus last week. West is a 6-9 power forward who I am still trying to find some info on. Word is he had a good visit and could be the player to get the open scholly the Aggies have if academics work out.
6-foot-1 combo guard Deshawn Gomez from Inglewood, Calif., could also slated to be on campus this week. Here is a link to his stats last year in high school, looks like a capable scorer.

Does BJ go by Brandon? Did he attend Gods Academy? I know his AAU team was Texas Select at one point.
Nevermind. Brandon and BJ are not the same person; please disregard comments.
Jason. B.J name is Brandon West. He is from Louisiana, but is in Dallas attending a prep school. Here is highly rated according to ESPN, and rivals.com has him listed at 6'10 230. ESPN has him listed 6'8 215. Here is what I found on espn.

Where is BJ West attending school?
Im interested about the status of Tyrone Watson. I thought he was one of the better players from Canada and now it seems as though he will not receive the open scholly. Am I mistaken here?
help us out here Groves. Where is this cat West playing at? Gods Academy or AAU with Texas Select?
I don't know any specifics, but if the APR is favorable (and we should know on May 6), then there will be a 3rd schollie available.
Anon, the only blurb I've seen on him was with Texas Select.
JG, was that something you found from google, or something you heard from the coaches?
It's a little strange that there isn't any readily available info on this kid.
I hope he not another project...
Frank Allison is correct.....I'm still working on it, but I've heard that B.J., or Brandon was offered by the Aggies, which would be the third big man the Aggies are interested in. N'doye from last year, another mystery candidate and West. Who gets a scholarship and who red shirts (like rahman and others who have caught up at Dona ana and NMSU) is still up in the air. ... as a blogger asked earlier, Watson is also a possibility for a scholarship. Looks like the main goal is to get players on campus, see how they develop in the classroom and on the court and reward scholarships where needed and/or deserved
JG thanks. Great work.
According to Rivals West committed to NMSU yesterday. After doing research on this guy he looks to be another academic nightmare. LSU looked to recruit him but passed. GET HIM TO READ BOOKS MENZIES!!!!!!!!
So the kid is about 6'9. How much bulk does he have on him? Looking to JG to answer this one...I've seen just about everything online about him so don't bother referencing that.
Anon at 237. Here is Felix's story after he talked to the man himself. The mystery is finally solved. Sorry it took so long. Felix said he was in the 240-pound range
