I took the survey and answered the following in more detail:

1) Remove the tarps even if you have to give away bunches of tickets to children.

2) More exciting player introductions. Spot lights, music, etc.

3) move the student section to one of the sidelines like they used to have them.

4) Serve beer. They do it for concerts.

Interesting poll. I hope those that received this poll took the time to fill it out. Also, most importantly took it seriously. I've been a season ticket holder for 7 years.
I'm flexible on the game times, but I have to agree with what ANON 10:26 mentioned about the tarps. There's no excuse as to why we can't fill the Pan Am. Here are a few of my suggestions.

- We need a much better selection at the concession stands. Popcorn and burgers don't cut it. Bring in a few of the local businesses to serve their food. Having local food that everyone can enjoy will not only make the games more enjoyable, but will help advertise the local business. Win/Win situation.
- Concession stand service. The lines and terrible service at the football games this year have been ridiculous! The b-ball games last year had slow service also. Service will make or break a business and NMSU should pay attention to this.
- Beer sales! This has been an issue for years. Why can they serve at concerts, but not at games? Beer companies bring in a lot of dollars that athletic department can use. This is an obvious choice.
- Advertising and Special Nights! One thing that NMSU needs to do is get out in the community and sell itself. Why should people attend games? NMSU needs to make itself a part of the community that everyone can rally behind. I'm not an advertising expert, but this really needs to be one of the main issues addressed by the athletic dept. Also, having more discounted nights for kids, military, local schools, etc can go a long way. Yes they do some of this, but apparently it wasn't enough if they had to tarp off entire sections and barely filled the Pan Am with 6K fans during a 26 win season. Also, have more special nights like the "white out", etc. This needs to be an experience to remember. Go to any professional game and you'll see that the atmosphere is something in and of itself (lighting, music, etc).
- Get the students more involved. When I was a student I went to all the games. The athletic dept not only needs to get out into the community, but needs to sell itself to the students. The full-time students usually have unlimited access to all sporting events. So why don't more attend? Get them to the games! It would also be good to have students sections on the sidelines too.
-Lastly, but more importantly, schedule your rivalry games when the students are there. The UNM game has been scheduled after the students go home for Christmas break for several years. Students and the athletes can't get into the games if the scheduling is poor.

I hope NMSU listens to what we fans want. These aren't impossible requests. As it was stated before, the games need to be entertaining in the stands and not just on the court.
