Men's schedule talk

The latest I have heard has the schedule being completed in the next week or so.

As I posted in another blog post, rumors have the Aggies traveling to USC and hosting Pepperdine. Another note that I have heard on the USC game is that it will be on a separate trip from the Bracketbuster payback game at Long Beach, so future Cali recruits have two shots to see NMSU in person.

So far this is what I know about the schedule
Loyala Marymount at the PAC — I learned this is a payback from two years ago that was supposed to be played last year, but for didn't occur
At North Texas
At USC
At Long Beach
Lou Henson Classic
Home and Home with UNM and UTEP
I presume the Aggies will be on the road for a Bracketbuster game since they have hosted the last two

I think there is still room for a game or two which could be causing the delay. I think it's a good schedule considering how young the Aggies will be. If USC is true, it will give them one high major opponent. The UNM - UTEP stretch could be a killer since both teams seem to have improved greatly.

Thanks JG. Any idea who they are talking to for the Lou Henson Classic?

Looks like another solid schedule put together by Boston & Co. I like that we have one or two high level programs in OOC play balanced with a few good mid majors. I really like that we're trying to get more exposure on the West coast, because let's face it, the east is dominated by the ACC, SEC, and Big East. Too many mountains to climb over to make a name for ourselves there.

Lou Henson Classic teams.
Eastern and Western New Mexico, plus Highlands University.

Anon 9:27 -- A highly dubious prediction. Besides I think Western would give a much harder times than the loobs or whiners will.

Anon: Good find. That link is dated at the end of June. I remember that during a postgame press conference, Coach Menzies said the Aggies had been approached about the NIT, but I haven't heard talk about the Aggies in the NIT for some time, but that doesn't mean they aren't in it. I'm pretty confident about the USC and Stanford games and it would be great if they landed in the NIT. I also believe there is a push to get as many home games as possible during these tough financial times.

Did you say Stanford?!
